Headquartered in Honolulu on the island of Oahu, the HTA supports the interests of Hawaii's transportation industry by representing regulated carriers, private carriers, and allied industry members before regulatory and legislative agencies. The Hawaii Transportation Association collaborates with county, state, and federal legislative bodies on matters concerning transportation, safety, and business. The HTA also takes part in discussing public issues before they become laws and regulations—ensuring that the voice of Hawaii's transportation industry is heard.
The Safety Department of the Hawaii Transportation Association educates both HTA members and the general public through classes, seminars, and brochures on a variety of safety topics. Training classes are offered on Oahu, Hawaii (The Big Island), Maui, and Kauai for HTA drivers and supervisors, and include:
• Hawaii Transportation Association's Driver Improvement Program
• Road Evaluations
• Vehicle Inspection Coaching
• Hazardous Materials Training
• Forklift Training
