The New Jersey Motor Truck Association was founded in 1914 as a non-profit trade association to support the trucking industry in the state of New Jersey, and now has more than 1000 members.
Mission Statement
NJMTA strives to foster and promote sound economical and efficient service by motor carrier transportation; to promote safety and courtesy in highway transportation; to foster and support beneficial laws and regulations affecting the motor carrier industry and highway transportation; to promote and encourage the construction and maintenance of an adequate system of safely engineered highways; to foster and promote sound and reasonable taxation at the state and federal levels on highway users and to engage in any and all activities that will advance the interests of highway transportation and highway users generally.
Publications
The NJMTA publishes a weekly online newsletter, and the Bulletin digital magazine, and provides an online regulation information center. The NJMTA also provides a number of educational seminars, with topics ranging from truck repair and maintenance, to regulations and safety.
Scholarships
Each June, the New Jersey Motor Truck Association provides three $1,000 scholarships to the children of NJMTA member companies.
Awards
The NJMTA 56th Annual Truck Driving Championships and the 2nd Annual Step Van Driving Championships will be held in Somerset, NJ in June 2010. The John F. Winchester Awards Luncheon will be held in May of 2010 at the Pines Manor in Edison, where Rocque D. Dameo of Dameo Trucking, Inc. will be recognized for his long service record and contributions to the welfare of the industry in New Jersey.
