The Washington Trucking Associations (WTA) is a nonprofit corporation established in 1922 by a group of truck owners for the purpose of protecting and promoting the interests of all segments of Washington's trucking industry. The WTA utilizes the united power of its membership to support legislation that would benefit the trucking industry. The WTA cooperates with and maintains regular contact with departments of city, county, state and federal agencies, including: Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, Washington State Patrol, Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, Licensing, Revenue, and Transportation; U.S. Department of Transportation and various legislative and executive committees and commissions.
The Washington Trucking Associations provides multiple services to trucking industry members. In addition to keeping members informed of the latest regulations and compliance issues they also work to promote a favorable and profitable operating climate for those in the transportation business. Maintaining close contacts with government agencies, the legislature and other organizations directly or indirectly related to trucking they use their united power to support legislation that would benefit the trucking industry.
The WTA maintains several conferences, which are: Common Carriers, Private Carriers, Dump Truckers, Log Truckers, Household Goods Movers, Intermodal Carriers, and Suppliers.
The Washington Trucking Associations publishes several newsletters to its membership. These include the Nortwest Transporter; Hot Topics; Retro Newsletter; and finally, News on the Move.
